About Us
Genesee Land Trust is the local, not-for-profit land trust
in the Greater Rochester region working to protect open space for
public benefit. Founded in 1989, Genesee Land Trust is one of 1700
land trusts nationwide. The Trust is funded primarily by membership
gifts, grants, corporate funding and other contributions.
Working in Monroe and Wayne Counties, and portions of Ontario,
Genesee, Livingston, and Orleans Counties, we preserve land that
includes native plant and wildlife habitat, wetlands, farmland,
woods, waterways, and scenic and recreational areas.
